George Papadopoulos is the former Trump campaign adviser, becomes his first adviser to be jailed in the special counsel investigation. During the investigation by FBI, he lied regarding his connections with Russian intermediaries during the 2016 presidential polls and so jailed for 14 days. In January 2017, he obstructed the inquiry at a very critical point. He lied because he wanted to distance himself from illegal actions.
