Elon Musk, the billionaire of SpaceX and Tesla, has outlined his plans to connect human brains directly to computers. He describes it as a campaign to develop “symbiosis with artificial intelligence”. He also revealed first prototype might well be implanted in a human by the end of next year. Testing on animals is already underway. However, he admits securing federal approval for implanted neural devices is difficult.
