The pace of the fires in the Amazon could make the ecosystem Struggle. Destroying the Amazon would prevent us from enjoying the clear air we now appreciate. India's latest floods have been observed, and extreme weather patterns are a case in point. Studies suggest that the forest absorb about 2.2 billion tons of CO2 from the atmosphere. Saving the Amazon is important for combating climate change.
