Google targeted people with 'darker skin' in a bid to improve its facial recognition software, according to the latest report. In exchange for face scans, the tech giant allegedly gave the volunteers $5 gift cards. The project reportedly focused on improving biometric features as facial unlock for the Pixel phones. People from various backgrounds were used to ensure it identifies a wide range of facial features.
