South Africa decided to bowl in the World Cup 2019 opener against England in Oval. Normally, the bowling team would start the 1st over with a pace bowler, but captain Faf du Plessis employed a different tactic altogether as he employed Imran Tahir as the opening bowler and created history. In the 44-year history of the ICC Cricket World Cup, Tahir became the first spinner to deliver the first ball of a World Cup.
