India has about 2293 odd political parties for 2019 general elections -EC

The EC reveals 2293 political parties registered for the upcoming 2019 general elections. They include 7 recognised national & 59 recognised state parties and recently 149 political parties were registered between Feb & March; but are unrecognised, so cant contest in the elections with a fixed symbol. To get recognition, they must secure min % of votes & seats in the assembly. Some parties were found to not exist any longer.
