Petrol bombs and water cannon amid Hong Kong protests

Police in Hong Kong had to use water cannon and tear gas against protesters who were throwing petrol bombs and bricks near government offices in the city. The latest violence broke out after thousands of pro-democracy demonstrators started marching without a police permit. Scuffles also broke out later between rival protesters across the city. The months of unrest had started by a proposed extradition bill.
