There's a bizarre link between your Appendix and Parkinson's

A new research claims patients who have had their appendix removed are three times more likely to develop Parkinson’s disease, despite previous studies suggesting the opposite. A major finding of this study has revealed appendix is a collection point for an abnormal protein linked to Parkinson’s disease termed ‘alpha-synuclein.’ This protein can jump between neurons and can travel up the gastrointestinal tract to the brain.
