The last few days people residing in the Mid-West region of the US experienced a historic winter with a bitter cold that forced people to remain indoors and shutting off all schools and offices. Meteorologists now explain the reason behind this extreme winter where temperatures dropped as low as minus 50F as 'Polar Vortex'. Scientists say polar vortex is a term commonly used now however the phenomenon existed forever.
