Hyundai to shut operations at Chennai plant for 5 days amid second wave of Covid

Hyundai Motor India Ltd has decided to shut operations at its plant in Chennai for 5 days starting today, in view of the second wave of coronavirus pandemic. "Considering the prevailing situation in Tamil Nadu, Hyundai management has decided to temporarily suspend the plant operations for a period of 5 days, starting, May 25, 2021, until May 29, 2021," the firm said in a statement. Tamil Nadu recorded 34,867 Covid cases in 24 hours.
