There's an interesting story behind the idea of Appstore, here's what happened: Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff came up with the idea of calling the company’s software ecosystem “AppStore” after a meeting with Steve Jobs in 2003, years before the iPhone or Apple’s App Store launched. Benioff even registered the domain AppStore.com. but he later gifted the domain back to Steve Jobs. The details were shared in Benioff’s book Trailblazer.
