According to the latest study conducted by the UN trade and development agency, Africa is robbed of nearly $89 million every year due to tax evasion and illicit theft of capital. 'Illicit financial flows rob Africa and its people of their prospects, undermining transparency and accountability and eroding trust in African institutions,'' said UNCTAD Secretary-General Mukhisa Kituyi while referring to the report.
