Airport in Sri-Lanka's tamil-dominated Palaly to be developed by AAI

An agreement has been signed between Airports Authority of India's executive director Anil Gupta and the Indian Ministry of External Affairs's Joint Secretary Sanjay Panda to develop Palaly Airport in Sri Lanka. This is a strategic area for India as Palaly is located in the sensitive Tamil-dominated northern province, which will give a foothold to India. This will be AAI's first global airport development project.
