Asian Development Bank to offer $2.2 Billion COVID-19 aid to India

Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Masatsugu Asakawa on Friday assured Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman of $2.2 billion (about Rs 16,500 crore) support to India in its fight against the novel coronavirus. Mr Asakawa lauded the Indian government''s decisive response to the pandemic, including a national health emergency program. On March 18, ADB announced an initial package of approximately $6.5 billion for member countries.
