Bitcoin breaches $40,000-mark just five days after crossing $30,000

Leading digital currency Bitcoin continues its record-breaking run and is looking to reach the moon. The digital currency reached a high of $40,402.46 just five days after breaching the $30,000-mark on January 2. The cryptocurrency has surged more than 700% from a March 12 closing low. Other smaller currencies such as Ethereum and Ripple also continued their positive run. Ethereum gained 1.8% at $1,231.
