Boeing revealed it decided to fix safety alert on 737 Max after 3 years

It was recently revealed that Boeing decided to wait 3 years to fix a non-working safety alert on its 737 Max plane but they speeded up the process only after the first of the 2 deadly crashes earlier this year killing nearly 300 people. It was informed after US Reps. asked Boeing and the FAA why the firm took more than a year to tell the safety agency and airlines that the alert didn't work on Max jets.
