Canada's Brookfield Infrastructure Partners to invest in Reliance Jio Infratel's tower unit

Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. and its affiliates will invest Rs 25,215 crore ($3.66 billion) in telecom tower assets of Reliance Industries. This multi-stage deal to acquire Reliance Jio Infratel's tower unit is the single-biggest private-equity deal ever in India. Brookfield will be holding 100 % of the equity of the telecom tower company and Reliance will become a co-sponsor, but will not hold any units.
