Coronavirus: Apple, Google brought 'contact-tracing' to 3 billion people

Apple & Google revealed a technology to add to their smartphone platforms which will alert users if they come into contact with a person infected with the coronavirus. People have to opt into the system but it can monitor about a 3rd of the global population. Contact tracing is a technology meant to curb the spread of the novel viruses by telling users they should quarantine themselves after coming in contact with an infected person.
