Former Audi chief Rupert Stadler has been charged with fraud over Volkswagen's role in the infamous 'Dieselgate' cheating scandal. The charges are linked to over 430,000 VW, Audi and Porsche cars that were fitted with 'defeat devices' to fool regulators' emission tests. Professor Rupert Stadler and 3 other defendants have been accused of fraud, falsifying certification and illegal advertising, said the German prosecutors.
