Indian-origin Sundar Pichai, Google CEO is an exception for sure; as in the world of skyrocketing salaries for CEOs, he has turned down a pay hike by shunning the big equity awards. Pichai was appointed as Google CEO in 2015 and hasn't received an equity award in over 2 years. He had turned down the big payday through the grant of restricted stock in 2018. The reason behind this is that he already had a generous pay package.
