Government okays Rs 10.5 lakh crore India manufacturing plan on iPhone, Samsung and others

In a major boost for the Make in India initiative, applications of 16 electronics companies including 10 mobile phone manufacturers have been approved by the government under the Production-Linked Incentive scheme. Top firms including Samsung and Apple suppliers Foxconn, Wistron and Pegatron have got the approval to manufacture mobile phones with invoice value Rs 15,000 and above to take the total production to Rs 10.5 lakh crore.
