Government releases Rs 35,298 crore GST compensation to states

The central government released Rs 35,298 crore to the states to cover up for all the loss due to the rollout of GST. GST was introduced on 1st July 2017 and states were then promised to compensate for all the losses of the revenue for the rights to levy taxes which was actually being snatched away. This comes just days before the 38th meeting of the GST Council which is the highest decision-making body.
