Govt eases FDI norms for single-brand retail, coal mining, digital media; approves 75 medical colleges

In a bid to boost the economy, cabinet approves 100% FDI for coal mining and all related processing activities. Govt also allowed 100% FDI allowed in contract manufacturing under automatic route and also local sourcing norms for FDI in single brand retail. The Union Cabinet has announced plans to set up 75 new medical colleges across India. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar and Union Minister Piyush Goyal made this announcement.
