Govt, RBI to finalise 1st overseas sovereign bond issue

Reserve Bank of India and government will finalize plans for India's first overseas sovereign bond issue by September. This will only happen when the Centre's second-quarter borrowing program is finalized, finance secretary Subhash Chandra Garg has confirmed. He also revealed that despite India's credit rating being lower than a number of emerging markets, it will be command rates comparable with major countries.
