GST Council slims down 28% tax slab

In the first half of the meeting in Guwahati, Goods & Services Tax (GST) Council today decided to trim slab of 28% to just 50 items including automobiles, washing machine, refrigerator, sin goods like paan masala and cigar. 28 % slab currently includes 227 items in it. This is the biggest reduction since GST introduced. Earlier, the council reduced the tax rate to 1% for manufacturers and restaurants against 2% and 5%.
