Southwest airlines witnessed a sharp drop in profit in the 4th quarter because of the continued grounding of Boeing 737 Max. The airlines said it will seek additional compensation from Boeing as the problem is expected to continue deeper in 2020. Southwest owns 34 of the Max jets which is more than any other airline & its CEO said much of the compensation will be in the form of reduced pricing on future purchases from Boeing.
