Huawei wants to dominate the next gen of wireless technology, investing at a goal where only a few companies can match. It spent $15.3 billion on R&D last year, which is more than double the amount it shelled out roughly 5 years ago. It's making increasingly aggressive forays into everything from mobile & cloud services to semiconductors. Huawei's 2018 research budget grew 149% from 2014 surpassing Apple, Microsoft & Samsung.
