India retains its position as world's 2nd largest arms importers during 2015-19, Russia's share dropped

India was the world's 2nd largest arms importers during 2015-19. According to a leading think tank that tracks arms transfers, Russia remains the largest supplier despite its share of Indian weapons purchase declined from 72% to 56%. The SIPRI said in its annual that 5 of its largest arms importers during the 5-year period were Saudi Arabia, India, Egypt, Australia & China, which together accounted for 36% of all arms imports.
