India: Warns Flipkart, Amazon over discounts, must ensure compliance with new FDI rules

The Indian government has reportedly warned foreign e-commerce firms such as Amazon, Flipkart against giving steep online discounts that affect small shopkeepers. It also asked online retailers to comply with new FDI rules & was prepared to listen to the foreign firms' concerns about the rules. Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said the government is committed to protecting small traders from predatory behaviour by foreign firms.
