Inspired by mother's passing comment, Japanese intern builds billion-dollar company

Yuta Tsuruoka, who was an intern at a crowdfunding startup, got the inspiration from his mother's passing comment and started a company that's worth $1.7 billion. 30-year-old Tsuruoka built software to help individuals and small businesses create an internet shop. He founded his company named Base Incorporation in 2012. According to analysts, Base is "one of the most user-friendly platforms enabling businesses to go online."
