IT is a major industry in India, but the gender gap seems to be widening in this sector. As per reports, the IT sector has nearly 26% of females as compared to 74% of males in its workforce, i.e. nearly 3 times more males than females. The factors that are responsible behind this gender gap are health, education, economy and policies. At the same time, females are under-represented in rising job fields that need STEM expertise.
