Japanese govt says it will limit foreign ownerships in its IT & telecom sectors

The Japanese government on Monday said that it would put high-tech industries on a list of businesses for which foreign ownership of Japanese firms is restricted. The new rule will come into effect from 1st August. This has come amid pressure from the US in dealing with cyber-security risks and technological transfers involving China. During the announcement, the names of the affected nations & firms were not mentioned.
