Maharashtra Principal Secretary sent on leave for letter allowing DHFL promoters' travel

A senior Maharashtra government officer was sent on compulsory leave after Kapil and Dheeraj Wadhawan, promoters of the DHFL group, were found in Mahabaleshwar, enjoying a picnic amid lockdown. Amitabh Gupta, Principal Secretary (Special) in the Home Department, signed a letter allowing DHLF promoters to travel in five vehicles from Khandala to Mahabaleshwar. Gupta said in the letter that Wadhawans were his family friends.
