McDonald's new paper straws cannot be recycled but axed plastic ones

The fast-food chain Mc Donalds had rolled out paper straws in a bid to protect the environment last year, which was introduced to all 1361 restaurants in the UK & Ireland. Now, Mc Donalds admitted that paper straws could not be recycled as they are too thick to be processed by its recyclers, yet, the materials are recyclable. The previously used plastic straws could be recycled but were ditched due to govt's ban on plastics.
