No signs of early economic recovery as contraction may extend till September: RBI

The Reserve Bank of India has said in its annual report that the contraction in the country's GDP or gross domestic product will "likely prolong into" the second quarter (July-September). RBI said it had to undertake expansionary policy measures to ensure adequate liquidity in the system in the wake of the economic crisis posed due to the Covid19 lockdown. However, improvement can be witnessed in the second half of 2019-20.
