One US Firm Filed 135% More Patents In India Than All Other Indian Labs

In 2016-17, in India, a US firm filed patents which were more than double of all the patent applications from 50 labs under DRDO, 40 labs in IISc, 38 labs under CSIR, 31 NITs, 23 IITs and 6 research facilities under ISRO. The total requests were 781. Whereas a US semiconductor and telecom equipment firm applied for 1840 applications. China, Japan, and the US collectively accounted for more patents in India than India itself.
