Only 12 out of 33 lakh company directors are eligible in MCA database

In order to remove companies with directors nominated without their knowledge, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) will freeze director identification numbers (DINs) of those who did not submit KYC requirements for directors, made mandatory by the MCA. 21 out 33 lakh of such 'active directors' failed to sumbit these documents. A fee of Rs 500 along with required documents will be needed re-attain eligibility.
