PhilipMorris, Godfrey Phillips being investigated by India's ED

India's Enforcement Directorate (ED) is investigating Philip Morris International Inc and Godfrey Philips for allegedly violating laws in India. There was a 9-year old government ban on Foreign direct investment in India but Philip Morris has continued to pay Godfrey Phillips for manufacturing their Marlboro cigarettes. After reviewing the documents the ED officials have decided to look deep into the matter.
