Plastic manufacturers bear the cost of Maharashtra plastic ban

Plastic manufacturers in Maharashtra are facing a hard time after imposition of the plastic ban. Neemit Punamiya, general secretary of the Plastic Bags Manufacturers Association of India informed that shutting down of business by 2500 plastic manufacturers will lead to a loss of Rs 15,000 crore and leave 3 lakh people jobless. The ban will also prove detrimental to the State's GDP and bank loans of a plastic sector.
