Popular range of smartphones in India is Rs 12,000 to Rs 14,000, shipments hit new record at 36.9 million

According to a report by the International Data Corporation, the smartphone market in India has witnessed a shipment of 36.9 million handsets in the 2nd quarter of 2019, which is highest in any quarter till now. Maximum number handsets sold are in the price range of Rs 12,000 to Rs 14,000, which is often known as the budget phone range. While One Plus ruled in the premium smartphone category, Xiaomi was the most sold brand.
