Poverty could increase by 11 million people if economic condition deteriorates due to Coronavirus: World Bank

The World Bank said in an economic update on Monday that the growth of the economies across the world may see sharp slowdown owing to coronavirus outbreak. The World Bank said the growth in developing economies in the region is expected to slow to 2.1 per cent in 2020 and to - 0.5 per cent in a lower-case scenario. It also warned that further deterioration of economies may increase the proverty by 11 million.
