Power Budget 2020: FM announces Rs 22,000 crore funds for power and renewable sector

Highlighting the importance of India emerging as a power generation giant, the Finance Minister announced a total allocation of Rs 22,000 crore to power and renewable sector. "A new scheme of smart meters will be launched. Here, the prepaid meters will give freedom to give consumers to choose supplier and rate as per their requirement," she added. She said Solar plans for Agri & railways will boost India’s renewable energy sector.
