Rich became Richer- wealth of India’s richest 1% increased by 20.9 lakh crore

According to a survey, in 2017, the wealth of India’s richest 1% went up by 20.9lakh crore, an equivalent amount of total central government budget 2017-18. The survey shows a grim picture of the “rising inequality” not just in India, but globally. 82 percent of the total generated wealth went to the 1% rich people and the 3.7 billion people considered as the poorest half saw no increase in their wealth.
