Ride-hailing app Grabcar fined S$10,000 by Singapore's privacy watchdog for privacy violation

Popular ride-hailing platform Grabcar has been fined S$10,000 by the privacy watchdog of Singapore, the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC), for the violation of the privacy of users. PDPC said a 2019 update put the data of some users at risk of unauthorized access. As per a filing published on September 10, the personal data of 21,541 drivers and passengers was at risk of getting exposed in a fourth breach.
