Standing Committee on Defence upset as defence projections fall short by Rs 67,000 crore in budget

The Standing Committee on Defence is upset with the fact that during the year 2019-20, the shortfall in the projection of allocated monetary amount was Rs 67,541.76 crore but the Ministry of Defence is convinced with an additional allocation of a meagre Rs 7,000 crore. As per a parliamentary committee report, the monetary allocation made has been hindering the acquisition of modern weaponry, aircraft, ships and tanks.
