Top 100 wilful defaulters owe Rs. 84,632 crore to banks

According to data shared by RBI in response to an application under the RTI, the net dues of the top 100 wilful defaulters surged by 5.34% in the last fiscal. The top 100 defaulters now owed Rs. 80,344 crore to the banks as of March 2019. Out of the top 100 defaulters, the top 10 defaulters including Gitanjali Gems, Winsome Diamonds & Jewellery and Kingfisher Airlines account for 32 percent of the amount.
