Virgin Galactic becomes the first publicly traded space tourism company as it debuted in the New York Stock Exchange, with shares rising more than 12%. It was initially priced at $12 a share, late rit was trading at $13.50 by mid-morning. George Whitesides, chief executive of the company said 'for the first time, anyone will be able to invest in a human spaceflight company that is transforming the market'.
