Apple was ordered to pay $145.1 million to WiLan, an intellectual property licensing company, by the US federal jury. The case was filed for breaching on 2 of its patents. WiLan basically collects patent and sues the company if it's breaching on those patents. In Apple's case 8,457,145 and 8,537,757, are the patents. These patents deal with wireless bandwidth allocation and adaptive call admission control.
