The data from the World Bank showed that India was the top recipient of remittances worldwide in 2018, mainly boosted in parts by migrants from Kerala. The actual number of Indian workers in other countries is quite hard to estimate. UP & Bihar now dominates in low-skilled workers moving to other countries in 2018, that was once held by Kerala & TN. Since the 1990s, Indians working abroad have been the world's top remitters.
