10 states in India account for 86.41% of new COVID-19 deaths, 80% of fresh coronavirus cases

India recorded 1,52,879 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours that took the country's active count to over 11 lakh, as per the official data released by the Union Health Ministry on Sunday. Five states - Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Kerala cumulatively account for 70.82% of India's total active COVID-19 cases. Ten states account for 86.41% of the new deaths.
